On October 28th, 240 friends and supporters of Victim Assistance Program gathered for a heartfelt morning of reflection and connection at our Gather For Good Friends Breakfast. Guests enjoyed a buffet breakfast while joining together to honor the vital work being done to restore lives in our community impacted by crisis, violence, and tragedy.
VAP shared a special video presentation, sharing inspiring stories of compassion in action—told through the voices of our dedicated staff. Guests also heard from a resilient survivor whom we had the opportunity to serve on her path to empowerment and healing. These stories reminded us how your generosity and partnership fuel our mission and sustain meaningful change throughout Summit County.
We were deeply honored to introduce the inaugural Victim Assistance Program Rev. Dr. Sandy Selby Extended Family Award, presented to and named in recognition of Rev. Dr. Sandy Selby, D.Min., MBA, CCFP. Dr. Selby has been an unwavering supporter and friend to Victim Assistance Program since 1985, serving with compassion as an educator, mentor, and advocate for those who care for others. Her legacy of empathy, resilience, and leadership continues to inspire our entire extended family.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, community partners, and attendees. Your continued commitment ensures that Victim Assistance Program can stand beside those facing unimaginable hardship and help guide them toward healing and hope. Together, we truly are compassion in action.
