Internship Program

Victim Assistance Program is currently accepting applications for students who wish to begin an internship in Summer 2025.

Victim Assistance Program has a long history of providing meaningful training and hands-on experience to students. In fact, many current employees were previous student interns! We accommodate both direct service internships and administrative internships for the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

Our direct service interns play a key role in providing 24/7/365 trauma informed care to residents and employees within Summit County, Ohio. If selected, your will provide crisis intervention & advocacy services via our 24-hour hotline & chat and in person, at the scene of the crime, or in one of our four office locations, located throughout Summit County, Ohio.

Our administrative interns help our administrative and leadership staff with the “behind-the-scenes” work. If selected, you will gain professional experience by assisting with outreach projects, grant writing, fundraising events, videography, graphic design and more. Administrative interns are based out of our downtown Akron office.

Here is what some of our past and current interns have to say about our internship program!

Internships are highly competitive and interested students should apply 60-90 days in advance of the semester. Victim Assistance Program Interns are unpaid positions and our interns are required to work on-site, in one of our four office locations.
