Rebecca Cool serves as the Interim CEO of Victim Assistance Program, where she leads a team of more than 30 staff and volunteers dedicated to providing 24/7 crisis intervention and advocacy to nearly 5,000 victims of crime and trauma each year. In her role, Rebecca oversees the agency’s operations, strategic planning, and community partnerships, ensuring the organization adapts to meet evolving needs while maintaining its core mission. A licensed social worker and nationally credentialed advocate with a master’s degree in social work from The University of Akron, she brings over a decade of experience in victim advocacy, program development, and organizational leadership to her work.
Chelsea oversees the delivery and quality of all client services, ensuring that individuals and families impacted by crisis and trauma receive compassionate, effective support. She leads program development, guides performance quality improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with national accreditation standards. Chelsea also provides leadership to the agency’s advocacy team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and service excellence.
Zach oversees a team of 12 trained Victim Advocates who are based out of the Main Office, Akron Municipal Court, and the Summit County Domestic Relations Court. By fostering strong collaborative partnerships, developing innovative referral pathways, and a keen eye for compliance, Zach ensures that each victim served is empowered with the long term support and resources to achieve long term healing.
Kim oversees a diverse portfolio of grants and foundations, managing all stages of the grant’s contractual lifecycle to achieve the organization's initiatives, goals, and mission to serve victims of crime & trauma.
Shelley fosters a professional educational setting for staff, volunteers, interns, and the professional community to ensure all victims receive trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, support that is grounded in best practices.
Terry is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, monitoring, and execution of the agency’s financial payables and receivables.
Christel oversees all facets of crisis services across the community by leading teams that provide support on-scene, in hospitals, schools, and other critical settings. In addition to crisis services, Christel oversees satellite offices and programs including Barberton Municipal Court, Stow Municipal Court and the Detective's Bureau, ensuring that every member of our community is met with dignity and care.
